Risk Assessments
Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999:

“Every employer shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of- the risks to the health and safety of this employees to which they are exposed whilst they are at work.” (Regulation 3)

This includes work equipment. All risk assessments need to be carried out by a competent person, and recorded. Risk Assessments also require reviewing when conditions change as a result of the introduction of new machinery, process or hazards.


TDT Machine Guarding offer a Risk Assessment service at a very competitive daily rate. Assessments include: Machinery (PUWER 98), COSHH 2002, MANUAL HANDLING 1992, and DSE Workstation 1992, all these assessments are carried out by our own competent personnel, using both Quantitive and Qualitive style assessments.

Process Assessment - This will identify the need for a) Other specific assessment requirments, b) Housekeeping c) Other health & safety non compliance situations.

Machinery Assessment - This will identify any actions that may be required to allow machinery to comply with PUWER 98 regulations

Manual Handling - To assess the risk from manual handling operations at work which could involve a risk to employees

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) - To enable a valid decision about the measures necessary to prevent or adequately control the exposure of employees to hazardous substances

Display Screen Equipment Assessment - To assess workstations for health and safety risks to which users/operators are exposed

Noise at Work Assessment - To assess which employees are exposed and to provide the employer with such information to enable them to comply with 'Noise at Work Regualtions 2005'
