Machine Braking
 
DC Brake: Our Brake systems have No mechanical moving parts this means there are no wearing parts to affect braking performance and minimises maintenance. They can be retro fitted to any machinery with A.C. motors up to 200hp, and is easily adjusted to match the load to be braked. The Motor does not need to be modified or rewound. As part of our package we can fit a wide range of emergency switching devices.
These include, but are not limited to Emergency Stop Buttons, Foot kick switches, and Safe Edges.

 

Emergency Stop Button Latching with 2NC Contacts

An Emergency Stop Button is a legal requirement, and to comply to BS EN 418 should be red, and as far as is practical on a yellow background. An Emergency Stop Button must be of a mushroom style. Our Emergency Stop Buttons can be fitted to the most easily accessible area on your machine and are designed for manual shutdown of systems/machinery in the event of fire or other emergency.

 

Safe Edge

Our safe edges are typically mounted to lathes, providing an emergency stop facility to the full length of the working area. The construction of the sensing edge is based on a continuous length of 'press-at-any-point' Tapeswitch encased in a durable housing material. As the safe edge deforms, a stop signal is initiated. All our safe edges are fitted with fail-safe wiring to conform to Category 3 of EN954-1 when used in conjunction with a PSSU controller.

 

Foot Kick Switch

Our Foot Kick Switch is suitable for a wide variety of machines, it is 300mm long and of an enclosed design. It is specifically designed for emergency stop applications and as such fully complies with BS EN 60204 and BS 5304.
